"Social fraud is a betrayal." The Minister of Labor, Solidarity, and Health is preparing a bill to combat what she calls a "major issue" as the Bayrou government plans to save €43.8 billion for the 2026 budget. According to a report published in September 2024 by the High Council of Public Finances, this social fraud is estimated at €13 billion per year, while the amount of fraud detected and stopped is €2.1 billion.
